I see thatyou have all been busy thinking about your homework. There was a lot to thinkabout this weekend.

As Imentioned at our last class, the world was full of chaos, people were doingevil.  
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：上节课讲到：当时世上到处都是混乱。人们在行恶事。）

People wereliving their lives purely by their lower physical senses.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：人们生活只为满足其底层感官的需要。）

But, I willsay further that I think that they were behaving lower than the other creaturesthat surrounded them.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：但是，我想进一步说，我认为人们当时的行为比他们身边的其它生物还低级。）

Everythingin the world was out of balance.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：世上的一切都失去了平衡。）

Giants werewalking the earth, and wickedness of man had increased upon the earth.

Donna Gordon：Sure, It says in Chapter 6 , verse 2,that the sons of the Gods saw that the daughters of man were fair and they tookfor themselves wives from whomever they chose.

Divinebeings can be described as angels, messengers of God.
（Divine beings可以描述为天使们，神的送信者。）

They havespecific jobs to do for God when the need arises.
（当有需要时，他们为神做特殊的工作。）

At any rate,if Divine beings are cohabiting with mortal women, then there is no balancebetween heaven and earth.

Donna Gordon：Angels, God's helpers. In Hebrew they aremessengers.  Intermediaries between Godand Mankind.

Donna Gordon：：The daughters of manare all of the female descendants of Adam and Eve that were upon the earth atthe time.

（翻译-清辞Ｗei：I think Fufeng was wondering if the Divine Beings areenlightened people. ）
Donna Gordon：Not in this story. They are divine beingsof the same substance as God.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：在这个故事里不是的。他们是神圣的和神一样的物质。）

Stupid笨，蜗牛4：亚当和夏娃的儿子从哪找的妻子？

Donna Gordon：They were clearly doing the wrong thing.Behaving badly.

In Chapter6, verse 5, the Bible says: "The Lord saw that man's wickedness hadincreased on the earth, and that every inclination of his heart was only forevil all day long."
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：第六章，第五句，圣经说：上帝见人类在大地上罪恶增加了，终日所思想的尽都是恶。）

In Hebrewthe word for impulse of tendency is the word Yet-ser.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：希伯来文里，冲动的倾向用Yet-ser这个词。）

In Judaism,there are two types of inclinations.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：在犹太教义里，倾向有两种意思。）

倾向 = inclination。

Yet-ser tov= the good inclination and the 
Yet-ser Ra,which equals the evil inclination.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：
Yet-ser tov 指好的倾向。
Yet-ser Ra 指坏的倾向。）


扶风 Fu Feng 2号：佛教说足欲望引发的：贪、嗔、痴。

Donna Gordon：Everyone has the inclination to do goodand evil within themselves.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：每个人内在都有做好事和坏事的倾向。）

We all mustfind the balance between the two. We can't be good all of the time, and wecan't be bad all of the time.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：我们都需要找到两者之间的平衡。我们不能总是好，也不能总是坏。）

扶风 Fu Feng 2号：好、坏的划分标准是伤害别人还是帮助到他人吗？

Donna Gordon：The standard, Fu Feng, is to be more goodthan bad. We should always help others.

Donna Gordon：This is similar to the Native AmericanIndian story that each of us has two wolves fighting inside us.

So whichwolf wins the battle?
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：哪一只狼赢呢？）

The one thatyou feed!

Donna Gordon：Selfishness would be a part of the EvilInclination.

One wolf isgood, one wolf is bad.  The one that youfeed and pay more attention to wins the battle.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：一个狼是好的，另一个是坏的。你喂的那个与专注多的那个就赢了。）

扶风 Fu Feng 2号：相对应佛教的我执与无我？
Donna Gordon：Yes, Fu Feng, just like Buddhism.

Donna Gordon：So the world is un balanced.  
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：所以这个世界就失去了平衡。）

Heaven andearth can be seen as a metaphor for the higher and lower senses were also notin balance.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：天堂和地上可以看成高级和低级感官的代指，也失去了平衡。）

More yangthen yin going on in the world.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：世界上阳比阴多了。）

But one mannamed Noah seemed to be more in balance than everyone else.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：但是一个叫诺亚的人比其他人都更平衡。）

In Chapter6, verse 8, Noah finds favor with God.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：第六章，第8句，诺亚是被神喜爱的。）

Donna Gordon：Yang can be described as bad, Yin asgood.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：阳指的是坏的。阴指的是好的。）
羽阖：原来如此。语意上领会错了。

Donna Gordon：Everything in the world is out of orderand the people are out of balance doing evil more than good.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：世上所有的事都失去了秩序。人们失去了平衡，做坏事多过好事。）

Noah"walks" with God.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：诺亚与神“同行”。）

I'll tellyou what this means.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：我下面会解释这句话的意思。）

扶风 Fu Feng 2号：阴阳或指白纸与线。失去平衡指光划线，不断地12345，却不归零。

Donna Gordon：In Hebrew, this word for walk is areflexive verb.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：在希伯来语里。“行走”这个词是一个反身动词。）

扶风 Fu Feng 2号：上面Donna有一句说得很有意思：天堂和地上可以看成高级和低级感官的代指。
羽阖：是敏锐程度吗?

Donna Gordon：Yes, we can look at this from manyangles. What is clear is that balance is not being maintained in heaven or onearth.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：是的。可以从很多角度看这句话。清楚的是天堂和地上的平衡都失去了。
）

The verb"To walk" is reflexive, and goes back to Noah.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：这个“行走”的动词是反身词。是诺亚的动作。）

He walksaround thinking of God all day.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：意思是他整天走来走去的思考着神。）

羽阖：如果地上是这种状况，天堂不就成了对立面了吗?如果地上失衡了，那天上通过什么方式保持平稳?

Donna Gordon：The Bible says that he was a righteousman in his generation.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：圣经里说他是同代人里的一个正确的人。）

Noah, wasmore in balance than anyone else.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：诺亚比其他人都平衡。）

His higherand lower senses were more in balance.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：他的高级和低级感官比其他人更平衡。）

He was moreenlightened than the other people.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：他比其他人更开悟。）

Because ofthis, God chose him to build the ark and save the animals.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：因为这些原因，神选了他来建造方舟，保存动物们。）

羽阖：是指他更能维持自身稳定?平衡不容易被打破?

Donna Gordon：Noah is more balanced and enlightenedthan the other people.  He is a morestable person.

As the onlyhumans on the ark, his descendants would inhabit the earth after the flood.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：作为方舟上的仅有的人类，他的后代在洪水后会居住在地上。）

So, God getsvery angry at mankind for being so wicked.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：所以，神对人类的罪恶很愤怒。）

He decidesthat they should be killed except for Noah and his family.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：他决定把他们都杀掉，除了诺亚和他的家人除外。）

God pickingNoah to be saved is an act of grace that we were talking about last class.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：神保存了诺亚是我们上节课里讲到的恩典的表现。）

We all knowthat rest of the story.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：剩下的故事我们都知道了。）

The animalsand Noah are all saved and the earth starts new again.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：诺亚和动物们都活了下来，在地球上从新开始。）

So, let'stake a few minutes to talk about this story.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：下面让我们花点时间来讨论这个故事。）

From thebeginning of the Bible, God creates the world in Balance.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：圣经最开始，神创的世界是平衡的。）

Sin comesinto the world from the eating of the fruit from the Tree of what is good andevil.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：罪从人吃了分别善恶树上的果子开始。）

And then theearth descends into more sin and evil.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：然后大地陷入更多的罪与恶。）

The story ofNoah, is a reverse creation story.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：诺亚的故事，是一个反方向的创世纪故事。）

God wants toundo what he has already created.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：神想把他已经创造的消灭掉。）

He wants torestore the balance in the world, so he tries one more time to create the worldhe wants.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：他想恢复世界的平衡，所以他再一次试图创造出一个他想要的世界来。）

So myquestion to you, what do you think of God's actions in this story?
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：我要问大家的是，你对神在这个故事里的行为有什么看法？）

Donna Gordon：Can we ever achieve perfect balance inthis world between the inclination to do good and the inclination to do evil?

Donna Gordon：Ting, hit upon a good concept here. 
Control.
God wants toremain in control of his creation.

Let's takefor an example our own human creations, our children.

Can we everkeep control of our children throughout their lives? Do we want to? Should we?

Donna Gordon：Don't our children have free-will?

张洁 Jessica 5号：我们不能永远控制孩子，也不应该是那样。

Donna Gordon：When God created man, free-will came intothe world.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：当神创了人，自由意志就产生了。）

Freedom tomake choices for ourselves.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：我们为自己做决定的自由。）

Stupid笨，蜗牛4：挪亚造了方舟，现在保存下来都是好的。真的吗？
Donna Gordon：The ark story comes from many ancientcivilizations, so I don't think that it was a real story, but one that has manylessons for us.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：方舟的故事存在于很多古文明的记载了。我不认为它是真的，但这个故事里有很多的可学习的东西。）

Donna Gordon：Yes, Jiangsu, free-will means our own initiative.

羽阖：因为有自由意志，就可以说"不"。当人有说"不"的权利，那很多就不可控。
Jiangsu海阔天空  14号：当然后果也自己承担。

Donna Gordon：So, our children our physical creations.Because of free-will, we cannot control them for all of the lives.  They must make choices for their own lives.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：我们的孩子是我们的创造。因为自由意志，我们不能控制他们的整个人生。他们必须为自己的人生做选择。）

We are notall like robots.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：我们都不是机器人。）

Donna Gordon：God may not have thought about theconsequences of his creation by taking the fact of Free-will intoconsideration.

Donna Gordon：State and community laws help to curbfree-will into community standards.

But at thetime of the story, there were no laws like we have today.

Donna Gordon：This is also a story about consequences.

We don'talways get a chance to take back some of our behaviors and try again.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：我们并不是总有机会重做我们的行为的，没有再开始一次的机会。）

We have todeal with the consequences of our behaviors.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：我们要面对我们行为的后果。）

羽阖：而行为必将造成后果，而后果有好有坏。
Donna Gordon：God tried to fix mankind with the flood,but he realized that he could never make man perfect.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：神想用洪水来修正人类。）

鸣婷 Ting 15号：看来，如果是要修改这个故事，神就不能毁灭人，而是要制定和平商讨规则来管理人类了。
羽阖：这并没有助益吗?
He-荷叶-9：神就是那个平衡吧？

Donna Gordon：So the lesson in this story is for us toalways find the balance between our lower and higher senses.

And for allof us to make good choices as much as possible.

Donna Gordon：We must also always walk with God atevery second of every day. What does this mean?

We mustalways remember that we are spiritual beings at our core, who are having aphysical life.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：就是说我们要记住我们的核心是灵，在经验物质的生命。）

We must tryto live in balance and harmony in whatever we do.
（翻译-清辞Ｗei：我们要在做的每一件事里达到平衡和和谐。）

羽阖：就是属上帝的那一部分是同样的？
